Aestivalia Promises Variety of Music, Outdoor Activities

Serving as the capstone of the Greek Week festivities Aestivalia brings about the conclusion to the week of activities. The festival, which brought the Indiana-based band The Why Store last year, returns this year with more music, food and fun.

The festival kicks off at 4 p.m. on Saturday (April 24).

At 4:30 p.m., the campus-wide outdoor picnic will begin.

At 5 p.m., rock musician John P. Strohm will perform.

At 6:15 p.m., the Chicago-based Freddy Jones Band will take to the stage as the headlining act Touring on the heels of their latest release Mile High Live, the Freddy Jones Band will bring the evening’s music to a close.

In addition to food and music, there will be games for the entertainment of one and all including
a blow-up obstacle course and a dunk tank.

In the event of rain, the festivities of Aestivalia will be relocated to Slayter Student Union. The musical acts will perform on the third floor, and food will be served on the first floor.

“This is going to be a wonderful event if the weather holds out,” said Jill Susice of the Student Activities Office. “I hope people are excited for the events we have planned.”

The events of Aestivalia are co-sponsored by SAC, SAO, IFC and the Panhellenic Council.
