In Georgia, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is joining the Georgia State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies to remind everyone to not risk it on the road by starting every trip with the click of a seat belt. “So many Georgians are looking forward to visiting family and friends over the Thanksgiving weekend and we want everyone to reach their destination safely,” Allen Poole, director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, said in an announcement. “Taking a few seconds to buckle a seat belt could lead to a lifetime of memories because mistakes happen every day and the goal is for everyone to survive when a mistake behind the wheel leads to a traffic crash.”

In Georgia, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) provides direct rail service into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and encourages travelers to avoid traffic and take MARTA to the airport this holiday season.
