Burke Hall will be swinging as the Fourth Annual Guitar Festival takes to the stage of the performance facility.
This year’s event is scheduled as a two-day event instead of the one-day that has been done in years past.
The festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, and Sunday, Oct. 15, with clinics and performances scheduled for both days.
The event is sponsored by the music department. All events are free and open to the public.
“Bringing together world-renowned guitarists on the same stage is a real thrill,” said Instructor Tom Carroll, who is in charge of organizing the event. “All of the artists are known all over the world as performers and teachers.”
This year’s Guitar Festival will feature more than a concert. In addition, there will be a chance to meet the performers as well as participate in various clinics.
“Adding the educational component to the festival is very important to me,” said Carroll.
The festival provides the opportunity for students and faculty to witness well-known musicians performing in an intimate environment as well as learn from the performers.
