With Thanksgiving and the holiday travel season approaching, KURU Footwear has released a report detailing the longest and shortest airport walking distances in the United States.

To compile the list, KURU measured airport terminal walking distances across the U.S. and surveyed 800 travelers to learn about their air travel experiences.

The survey found more than half (58%) of Americans plan to travel by air in 2024, with 43% traveling primarily for vacation, 21% to see family, and 17% for business. Additionally, two in three Americans wear sneakers while traveling, and 74% say they walk more than usual while navigating airports.

The longest airport walking distances are Dallas/Fort Worth International (2.16 miles), Washington Dulles International (1.62 miles) and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental (1.52 miles). The shortest airport walking distances are Lexington, Kentucky’s Blue Grass Airport (0.11 miles), New York’s Westchester County Airport (0.12 miles), and Pennsylvania’s Harrisburg International Airport (0.13 miles).
