WalletHub: These are 2024’s best and worst cities for staycations

With roughly 82% of Americans planning to travel this summer and high expenses forcing many people to stay home, WalletHub released its list of 2024’s best and worst cities for staycations.

The personal finance website said it compared more than 180 cities using 42 indicators that make an exciting and wallet-friendly staycation. The data sets explored include parks, per capita, museums per capita and restaurant-meal costs.

The best cities, per the analysis, are:

  1. Orlando, Florida
  2. Honolulu, Hawaii
  3. Cincinnati, Ohio
  4. Las Vegas, Nevada
  5. Tampa, Florida
  6. Chicago, Illinois
  7. San Diego, California
  8. Atlanta, Georgia
  9. New Orleans, Louisiana
  10. Tucson, Arizona
