DULUTH, Ga. — The Southeastern Railway Museum will be open free of charge on Saturday, Sept. 22, as part of Smithsonian Magazine’s 14th annual Museum Day.
Attendees wishing to visit the museum for free must download a ticket from the Southeastern Railway Museum listing on the Smithsonian Magazine’s website. Visitors who present the Museum Day ticket will gain free entrance for themselves and one guest at participating venues on Sept. 22, 2018.
Train rides and hand car rides will be available for a small fee.
The 35-acre museum is home to more than 90 pieces of historic railroad equipment, buses and artifacts that bring to life the region’s transportation history. The state designated the museum “Georgia’s Official Transportation History Museum.”
