HAPEVILLE, Georgia — My afternoon of planefanning began in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s cell phone lot as I waited for my wife’s plane to arrive.
It wasn’t long before an Air France 787 Dreamliner headed for Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport lumbered down the runway and into the skies overhead.
I will readily admit I am not an expert photographer. I’m better at photographing trains than I am planes, but learning how to best capture aircraft is becoming as much fun as it is a challenge.
Before long, my date arrived, and I headed for the domestic terminal, and together we adjourned to The Rooftop at The Overland, which, as its name might imply, is a rooftop bar at the Kimpton Overland Hotel. It offers views of the Porsche Experience Center and aircraft landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
