PARIS, Texas — There’s an old saying, something about Paris always being a good idea. I am not entirely certain, but I don’t think whoever said it was talking about Paris, Texas.
Still, whenever you’re passing through a city named Paris — and this is at least the third city named Paris I’ve visited — it’s a good idea to visit the local tower, regardless of whether it has a cowboy hat on top.
While the tower in France that most people would say is more famous was built in 1889, its Texas counterpart dates to 1993. And while it doesn’t necessarily make the same impression height-wise, it is a worthy detour while rambling through town.
