Guests can no longer smoke inside Walt Disney World and Disneyland under new rules aimed at improving the guest experience.
The company also banned large strollers at its theme parks. The new rules, which the company announced in March, take effect today.
The ban applies to Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California. The company will offer designated smoking areas on its property outside of its theme parks.
Cast members will enforce the new smoking rules, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
As part of its rule changes, Disney is also banning guests from bringing loose ice and dry ice into its theme parks.
“It’s about time. It’s the happiest place on Earth,” The Sun quoted Dennis Speigel, president of International Theme Park Service, as saying. “Why should people be subjected to smoke at Disney?”
