ATLANTA — People are always looking for the next big deal when it comes to booking travel. There’s nothing wrong with that.

To that end, many travelers want to know the best time and day for purchasing airline tickets. That’s because people think there is a magical day when airline tickets are cheaper.

So, is there a best day to buy plane tickets? The answer is there is kinda, sorta a day, but not really. Tuesday has traditionally been identified as the best day to find cheap fares. At the same time, those experts have warned against buying tickets on weekends.

If forced to pick a couple of days, Tuesdays and Sundays are probably your best bet for a cheaper fare. But, keep in mind, there is no guarantee.

That’s because there are a lot of variables that go into ticket pricing. Chief among them is demand for seats.

Many experts agree about three weeks out is the ideal time to purchase a ticket. But, it is sometimes difficult to buy a ticket a few weeks before traveling.
