Happy Mother’s Day

ATLANTA – I went to the Atlanta Braves game today for a special Mothers Day game, which had a very nice celebration in honor of breast cancer survivors.

Survivors and family members walked on the field prior to the game and released pink balloons.

The Washington Nations won 8-1. And, Nick Johnson (the Nationals’ first baseman) gave me a point from the dugout after I yelled his name while I was on the field. It was great. Later, he was involved in a game-changing play when he legged out what should have been an out. He took advantage of a lackadaisical Adam LaRoche in the top of the fifth. And, for the record, the play should have been ruled a hit, not an error.

The game reminded me: When it comes to baseball, nothing beats the ballpark.
