LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia — From the first steps into EGGtoberfest, it’s clear the event is special.
It’s equal parts barbecue competition, cooking demonstrations, food samples and community. It’s hard to think of another event where competition grilling teams and professional chefs are as approachable and willing to discuss their craft with attendees.
What everyone at the delectable food fest has in common is a love of cuisine, mainly cuisine grilled to perfection on a green kamado-style ceramic grill that has revolutionized backyard grilling and restaurant kitchens alike.
“In a world where we always say, ‘I don’t even know my neighbor; I don’t know my community; things are changing,’ this gives you optimism and hope,” Big Green Egg CEO Dan Gertsacov told Sightseers’ Delight. “These are neighbors cooking for neighbors. That’s the spirit you feel at EGGtoberfest. It’s the spirit that you taste at EGGtoberfest as well. It’s an incredible day of fun, family, fellowship and a lot of food.”
As Gertsacov noted, food has been central to the human experience since the dawn of time. It’s the centerpiece of weddings, celebrations, travel and football watch parties in the backyard.
“It’s about community, and that’s what’s true about the Big Green Egg,” he added.
At EGGtoberfest, it’s not enough to say that food makes the event special. Rather, it’s the diverse types of food that make the event so unique and serve to showcase the versatility of the Big Green Egg.
To borrow from Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can grill it.”
