BTS: Airlines gained $2.1 billion in third quarter 2024

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines reported a third-quarter 2024 after-tax net gain of $2.1 billion and a pre-tax operating profit of $3.1 billion.

According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), last year, airlines reported an after-tax net gain of $1.6 billion and a pre-tax operating gain of $3.3 billion.

U.S. airline financial reports are filed quarterly with BTS.
