SAS is expected to launch direct flights from Copenhagen to Nuuk, Greenland, in the summer of 2025.
The new route, anticipated to start June 27, aligns with the opening of Nuuk’s international airport later this year, marking SAS’ return to Greenland after more than two decades. The initiative strengthens travel connections to and from Greenland and SAS destinations worldwide.
Through its existing commercial agreement with its partner, Air Greenland, the new route connects Greenland to its broader network. Airline officials said the new route also underscores SAS’ commitment to strengthening travel opportunities across the Arctic.
Operating during the summer peak season, the new route will highlight Nuuk’s appeal as one of the world’s most unique travel destinations. National Geographic recently named Greenland one of the 25 best places to travel in 2025.
The new route is subject to final governmental approval.
