American Airlines is resuming operations today in parts of Florida impacted by Hurricane Milton.
The airline said its top priority continues to be the safety and well-being of its team members and customers. AA officials said they remain in contact with local, state and federal partners as they assess damage and staffing needs in the wake of the storm.
The airline resumed full operations at its Miami International Airport (MIA) hub, Key West International Airport (EYW) and Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV).
Operations are planned to resume Friday, Oct. 11, at Orlando International Airport (MCO), Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) and Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB). It will also resume operations at Marsh Harbour Airport (MHH) and Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO) in The Bahamas.
American is assessing damage at Tampa International Airport (TPA), Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Operations will resume when conditions permit.
For customers whose travel was impacted by the storm, American has extended its travel alert through Saturday, Oct. 12. The alert now includes five airports in the Bahamas in addition to 12 in Florida.
The airline said that fares continue to be capped for direct flights departing from locations covered by the alert.
