Former President Donald J. Trump has secured enough delegates to be the Republican Party Nominee for 2024 after winning several states, including Georgia.

He faces incumbent President Joe Biden, who has locked up the Democratic nomination, in November.

“Last night, President Trump soared past the 1,215 delegates needed to secure the GOP nomination,” South Carolina GOP Chairman Drew McKissick said in a statement. “Republicans across the country have seen what Biden’s “America Last” agenda has brought: a failing economy, an open border and a nation infested with the radical Left’s mentality.”

“It’s time to put America First, and there’s no better candidate equipped to do that than President Donald J. Trump,” McKissick added. “I look forward to July, when he will formally accept the nomination and focus our Party’s attention on November. President Trump’s leadership helped make our country great before, and it’s time to Make America Great, once again.”
