A record 14 million international visitors went to London during the first nine months of 2016, according to International Passenger Survey (IPS) figures released today.

A total of 5.2 million overseas visitors went to London between July and September 2016. That is a 0.8 percent decrease from a year earlier, but marks the second highest summer period on record, officials said.

“These figures demonstrate the phenomenal draw of our city’s world-class sport, culture, art, history and architecture,” Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said in a news release. “London remains well and truly open and welcomes visitors from every corner of the globe.”
