Southwest Airlines is launching its first international flights.
Starting July 1, the airline will offer flights from Atlanta to Aruba and Montego Bay; from Baltimore/Washington to Aruba, Nassau and Montego Bay; and from Orlando to (Saturday only) Aruba and Montego Bay.
AirTran Airways, Southwest’s wholly owned subsidiary, will continue service to Nassau, Montego Bay and Cancun, Los Cabos, Mexico City and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. By the end of the year 2014, the carrier plans to completely assume AirTran’s international flights.
