ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino played host to the much-talked-about wedding of award-winning producer, singer and composer Timbaland and his long-time girlfriend Monique Idlett. The couple exchanged vows during a private ceremony on the resort’s romantic and exclusive Renaissance Island.
Timbaland, Idlett and their wedding guests enjoyed a weekend filled with fun activities. Renaissance Aruba hosted a lavish welcome reception at the resort’s adult-exclusive Renaissance Marina Hotel on the Friday night before the June 22 wedding, followed by a rehearsal breakfast at the Renaissance Convention Center the next morning.
After the wedding ceremony on Renaissance Island’s Flamingo Beach, guests retreated to the island’s Iguana Beach for a celebration. During the weekend, wedding guests also took the opportunity to shop at many of the Renaissance Mall’s high-end stores.
Flocked with pink flamingos, the 40-acre Renaissance Island is home to the only private beaches on the island of Aruba — the family-friendly Iguana Beach and the adult-exclusive Flamingo Beach.
