Taking time to stop and smell the yellow daisies

Yellow daisies are a sign of late summer/early fall in Georgia. Perhaps, it is the wetter summer, but the flowers are still very much in bloom in the Metro Atlanta area, including Rockdale County to the east of the city.

According to the National Weather Service, Atlanta has received 38.94 inches of rain between January and August this year. These numbers do not reflect the rainfall the area received from Hurricane Irma earlier this month.

Atlanta only received 38.69 inches of rain for all of 2016. The 30-year average is 49.71 inches of rain per year.
